French based architecture firm Barbarito Bancel Architectes debuts a masterfully designed Dior building in Miami’s Design District. Barbarito Bancel Architectes designed the facade of ornate concrete and marble powder panels to signify a female figure’s silhouette, with long flowing skirts, fitted waists and softly rounded shoulders and hips. The lighted vertical concrete seams allude to the look of a flowing dress as it moves down a red carpet.  The Dior building has such great angles that it really catches peoples attention when approaching it from any direction and adds to Miami’s continuously evolving art and design scene.

Monsieur Dior ordered that a star be placed on the top of the building as a symbol of good luck. Dior Miami will debut as the first boutique with the star installation in the United States.

There is a wooden terrace at the top of the store is placed with decorated with white patio decor and green vegetation to break up the white concrete panels.

”Through large curve movements of white concrete, clear figures of the ‘plisée’ take shape, between which the spaces of the boutique slide in” said Barbarito Bancel Architectes. ”The project also takes into consideration its commercial nature as the building aims to move away from an institution or museum form thanks to its generous shop windows that open to the immediate public space” added Benjamin Bancel and Ivana Barbarito, lead designers of Barbarito Bancel Architectes
